Wine Review: This clear and medium ruby colored Mourvedre and Syrah based blend from Cantadora opens with a blueberry and vanilla bouquet with hints of stone dust, plum, and cedar. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and shows a bit of density. The flavor profile is a cherry and boysenberry blend with notes of Madagascar vanilla. We also detected hints of blueberry, Chinese five spice, and touch of licorice. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and mild tannins drift away nicely. We would pair this very good red blend with smoked beef brisket. Enjoy - KWGTP

The fall is a perfect time to plan a visit to Virginia Wine country. Ken and the KWG Tasting Panel have been covering the winning wines from the Virginia Governor’s Cup for years. Recently, our coverage has expanded beyond just the Governor’s Cup winners. Ken has been so impressed with Virginia wines that Theresa and he visited some wineries in the Charlottesville region in October of 2024. We highly recommend that you check out the six Virginia wineries in this post. We will start from the south near Charlottesville in the Monticello AVA and make our way north. Read This Blog Post
