Wine Review: This clear and very pale white gold colored Riesling from Knapp winery in the Finger Lakes opens with a mild yellow grapefruit and Anjou pear bouquet with hints of almond and faint ginger. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and viscous. The flavor profile is a quince and lime blend with notes of stony minerality and green tea. I also detected hints of lemon verbena and ginger ale. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity show very nice length. I would pair this dry-styled Riesling with grilled swordfish sandwich. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Overall, more citrus-forward and crisper of our Riesling portfolio, this wine presents intense notes of white peach with hints of wet stone. Delicate aromatics with white flowers and lemongrass, the palate delivers what the nose promises and more. Tangerine, ruby red grapefruit, and beeswax. Fresh and refreshing to the end, with lingering notes of citrus on the finish.
