Wine Review: This clear and pale straw-colored Chardonnay from William Fèvre opens with an Anjou pear and white grapefruit pith bouquet with hints of almond and green tea. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, fresh, and bright. The flavor profile is a chalky minerality and green tea blend with notes of white pepper and grapefruit pith. I also detected hints of lime zest. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger and last for a while. I would pair this Chardonnay with baked Dover sole. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: A fresh wine driven by citrus and white fruit. Fresh and supple, with a very slightly oaky finish, and marked by they typical mineral notes. Grilled seafood or chicken in a cream sauce. And, as always, oysters.

The fall is a perfect time to plan a visit to Virginia Wine country. Ken and the KWG Tasting Panel have been covering the winning wines from the Virginia Governor’s Cup for years.
