Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Sequoia Grove opens with an inviting black currant and brambly blackberry bouquet with hints of black cherry, leather, cracked black pepper, and violets. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, dense, and displays nice tension. The flavor profile is a dark chocolate and mulberry blend with notes of oolong tea, blackberry, and stone dust. We also detected hints of crispy bacon, black pepper, dark cherry, and touch of smoked meat. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and refined dusty tannins linger and last for quite a while. We would certainly enjoy this excellent Cab on its own. With food we would pair it with a porterhouse steak after a little decanting. We also note this wine will age nicely in your cellar as well. Enjoy - KWGTP
