Wine Review: This opaque and midnight purple colored Cabernet Franc from Santa Rita Estates opens with a sandalwood and black currant bouquet with hints of pencil shavings and nutmeg. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, fresh, and zesty. The flavor profile is a red plum and stony minerality blend with notes of red licorice and nutmeg. I also detected hints of tobacco and bay leaf. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity and its fine tannins drift away nicely. This rustic-styled Cab Franc benefits from some aeration. After a good decant, pair it with a grilled flat iron steak. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Fine and elegant, with a well-balanced expression of spices and red fruit. It exhibits excellent typicity, with firm tannins, and a dynamic, contemporary profile. (Gualtallary Argentina)
