Wine Review: This medium garnet colored Pinot Noir from the Arroyo Seco area of Monterey in California. It opens with ripe fruity aromas of cherry compote, stewed plum, sweet tobacco leaf, and cinnamon. The palate is generous with ripe fruit, medium-plus bodied with bright medium acidity. It is also plush and easy drinking. There are flavors of fresh red cherry pie, earthy cranberry, cola, and black tea with hints of licorice, tobacco, and exotic spices. Pleasant fine-grained tannins linger in the fruit driven long finish. Serve with BBQ pulled pork. - Mark

Winemaker Notes: Our best expression of cool climate Pinot Noir from the Arroyo Seco. Displays pleasing Bing cherry and strawberry candy aromas accompanied by notes of black pepper, cinnamon stick, and black tea. On the palate, bright strawberry sorbet flavors balanced with creamy, open-knit tannins and a long, pomegranate and sage- infused finish. This is a very versatile Pinot. Pair it with braised short ribs over creamy mashed potatoes or spicy Kung Pao chicken and rice.
