Wine Review: This clear and pale coral colored Blanc de Noirs from Schramsberg opens several random streams of small bubbles. The bouquet features aromas of watermelon and mild strawberry with hints of moist bread dough. On The palate, this wine is light plus bodied with integrated acidity. The mouthfeel is round, bright, and zesty with a pleasant gentle froth. The flavor profile is a ginger ale and red apple skin blend with notes of lemon zest and white pepper. I also detected hints of bread dough and saline. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger and are nicely extended. I would pair this Blanc de Noirs with a chilled shrimp cocktail. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2022 Blanc de Noirs opens with enticing aromas of yellow peach, apricot, lemon zest, and elderflower, complemented by notes of puff pastry, glazed orange, and almond paste. A tart and zippy entry, showcasing bright citrus and honey, intertwines with a touch of custard and lemon bar. A vibrant acidity in this bottling supports a long, quenching finish.
