Wine Review: This light-yellow colored Vidal Blanc from Cape May Winery opens with a golden raisin and apricot bouquet with hints of honey. On the palate, this wine is light bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and approachable. The flavor profile is slightly tart Bosc pear and mild pineapple blend with notes of green apple and saline. I also detected hints of ginger tea. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity drift away nicely. I would pair this Vidal Blanc with baked brie with honey. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: A beautifully crafted expression of Vidal Blanc, Cape May White offers an inviting nose of fragrant orange blossom and fresh apricot. The palate unfolds with ripe apple flavors, complemented by a hint of zesty orange rind. A refined balance of acidity and coastal minerality lingers through the finish, creating a crisp yet textured profile. This unique blend combines a 2023 vintage, aged in oak for one year, with a 2022 vintage, fermented in concrete, resulting in depth and complexity. With a 12.8% ABV, Cape May White is an elegant and refreshing choice for any occasion.

On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, we had the opportunity to interview Martha Stoumen. Martha is the winemaker and owner of Martha Stoumen Wines. We covered three white wines, two rosé wines, and three red wines with Martha. Martha is not your typical California winemaker. She uses lesser-known grapes, makes atypical blends, and has a unique style. You can read about these unique wines and other tidbits we learned from Martha in our latest blog post. Winemaker Interview Series – Cole Ballentine of Predecessor - April 2025

On Wednesday, April 16, 2025, we had the opportunity to interview Cole Ballentine. Cole is the co-winemaker, with his father William Ballentine Jr., at Predecessor Estate. Cole and his father-built Predecessor Estate to reunite the mountain with their ancestors who once farmed the area. We covered Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon wines from both the 2018 and the 2021 vintages. We also covered the Predecessor Estate reserve Cabernet Sauvignon named "Lorraine" from both the 2016 and the 2108 vintages. These are super-premium offerings; very little of each was made. You can read about these special wines and other tidbits we learned from Cole in our latest blog post. Read This Blog Post
