Wine Review: This opaque and dark garnet colored Zinfandel based wine from J. Dusi opens with a fragrant red raspberry and boysenberry bouquet with hints of kumquat and dates. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and very fruit forward. The flavor profile is a ripe boysenberry and stewed black plum blend with notes of graphite and oolong tea. We also detected hints of dried strawberry, tobacco and clove. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and moderate tannins are nicely extended. We would pair this old school Zinny Zin blend with Japanese teriyaki steak. Enjoy - KWGTP
