Wine Review: This slightly hazy and garnet colored Merlot based wine from Chateau Soleil opens with a spiced plum and moss bouquet with hints of delicate red berry and cedar plank. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and poised. The flavor profile is a raspberry tea and black plum blend with notes of stony minerality and nutmeg. We also detected hints of cinnamon, cedar, and faint tobacco. The finish is dry, and its moderate tannins stick around for quite some time. We would pair this wine with a leg of lamb. Enjoy – Ken & Mark
