Wine Review: This clear and dark garnet colored Zinfandel from V. Sattui opens with a cherry and boysenberry bouquet with hints of Bazooka bubble gum and pine pitch. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, polished, supple, and fresh. The flavor profile is a tasty black plum and mild oak blend with notes of stone dust and red currant. We also detected hints of oolong tea, clementine, and black pepper. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and well-managed moderate dusty tannins are nicely sustained. We would pair this Zin with smoked spareribs or with pan-roast duck breast. Enjoy - KWGTP
