Wine Review: This clear and dark red colored Chianti Classico Riserva from Nozzole opens with a mild black cherry bouquet with hints of new leather and tobacco. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, fresh and bright. The flavor profile is a cedar influenced spiced red plum and red cherry licorice blend with notes of stony minerality and oolong tea. I also detected hints of tobacco and black pepper. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate tannins linger and last for a while. I would pair this Chianti Classico Riserva with Grandma’s lasagna or your favorite bolognese. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Red berry and cherry aromas and flavors and earthy under-notes are shaped by vibrant, fresh acidity and a backbone of firm yet elegant tannins. Pairs well with meat, poultry, and cheeses.
