Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Merry Edwards opens with a black plum and pomegranate bouquet with hints of stone dust and orange zest. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, very smooth, and approachable. The flavor profile is a gentle black plum and light mocha blend with notes of mild black cherry and stone dust. I also detected faint hints of red licorice and spice. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and very fine grain tannins drift away nicely. This Pinot is a crowd pleaser and would be a great glass pour at a fine restaurant. It is very versatile and would pair perfectly with a beef carpaccio. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is a carefully crafted blend, designed to highlight the best characteristics of the region. The nose on this vintage features an undercurrent of sweetness, with hints of root beer and cherry cola, along with floral and forest notes. The full-forward palate offers pine and sweet red fruit, with dried cocoa throughout the finish.
