Wine Review: This clear and dark red colored Pinot Noir from Ken Wright Cellars opens with a pomegranate and cherry bouquet with hints of craisin. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, rather smooth, slightly viscous, zesty, and fresh. The flavor profile is a spiced black plum and black cherry blend liquor with notes of black pepper and pomegranate. I also detected hints of cedar, stony minerality, blueberry and a touch of rum. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and its moderate tannins are nicely extended. I would pair this Pinot Noir with pan-seared duck breast. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: A vibrant core of ripe cherry and blueberry is layered with notes of cherry syrup, kirsch, sandalwood, cinnamon, and a touch of cocoa nib. The palate is broad and plush, with smooth, integrated tannins and a creamy, ripe fruit finish.
