Wine Review: This clear and deep straw colored Albariño from Terras Gauda a very good value. It opens with a lemon zest and gardenia bouquet with hints of green almond and nectarine. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated plus acidity. The mouthfeel is round, slightly viscous, bright, and zesty. The flavor profile is a nectarine and white pepper blend with notes of saline and quince. I also detected hints of honeydew melon and almond. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger and last for a while. I will note that the acidity settles the longer the wine is open. I would pair this very nice Albariño with a pan-seared halibut with lemon butter. Enjoy - Ken & Mark

Winemaker Notes: The 2024 Abadía de San Campio showcases expressive aromas of white stone fruits such as peach and apricot, accompanied with fresh apple, ripe lemon, and subtle hints of pineapple and aromatic herbs. The vintage reflects excellent ripeness, delivering surprising vigor and a textured mouthfeel while preserving the variety's characteristic freshness. Creamy on the palate with perfectly balanced acidity, you will find a flavorful, zesty, and fleshy wine. The finish is long and refreshing, leaving lingering notes of white and citrus fruits. Albariño's characteristic tropical aromas are especially vibrant with this vintage and culminate nicely in a long, lingering finish. Ready to consume upon release, the estate recommends serving this wine at 50°F – 53°F.

Winemaker Interview Series - Jason Moulton and Katie Leonardini of Whitehall Lane - May 2026

On Wednesday, May 6, 2026, we had the opportunity to interview Jason Moulton and Katie Leonardini. Jason is the winemaker at Whitehall Lane and Katie is the Managing Family Member. During the interview, we covered two white wines: a 2023 Sauvignon Blanc and a 2023 Chardonnay. On the red side, we covered a 2023 Pinot Noir and a 2024 Pinot Noir. For the second half of the tasting, we covered four Cabernet Sauvignon wines: the winery’s 2021 Napa Valley offering, two 2022 single-vineyard offerings, and, wrapping up the tasting, a very limited Cab from the 2023 vintage. Winemaker Interview Series – Stephen Cruzan of Lasseter – April 2026

On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, we had the opportunity to interview Stephen Cruzan again. However, this time Stephen is at a new winery. We interviewed Stephen in July of 2023 when he was the winemaker at Titus. Now Stephen is the winemaker for Lasseter. During the interview we covered three white wines. A 2023 Sauvignon Blanc, a 2023 Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon blend, and a 2023 Chardonnay. On the red side we covered a 2021 Merlot, a 2023 Malbec, a 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, and finally their 2021 and 2023 Syrah’s from Moon Mountain.
