Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Italian red blend from Biserno opens with a fragrant bouquet of iron filings, blackberry, and cedar with hints of moist craisins, black currant, and violets. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with plus acidity. The mouthfeel is round and smooth. The flavor profile is a savory blend of spiced stewed plum, blackberry, and black olive with notes of stony minerality, black pepper, and craisin. I also detected hints of cedar plank, black currant, and tobacco. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and mild tannins drift away nicely. This wine benefits from some aeration. So, decant it briefly before serving it. Also give it a good swirl. Then pair it with steak fajitas. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Color: Intense and lively purple red with violet reflections.
Nose: Violet, berries, and light peppery spice. Clear aromas of Mediterranean maquis such as myrtle and rosemary, boisée nuance well integrated with roasting notes.
Taste: Enveloping, fresh and medium-bodied, with well-smoothed tannins. The pleasant drinkability is combined with excellent persistence.
