Wine Review: This 100% Malbec from Argentina shows a clear, deep ruby color, and displays aromas of leather, dried sage, blackberry, dried cherry, wet granite, and violets. Very smooth, juicy and fruit focused on the palate. This easy drinking Malbec is vibrant, balanced, medium bodied and has moderately acidic. There are flavors of blackberry, toasted oak, black tea, and coffee along with notes of vanilla and spice. Firm but not intrusive tannins linger for quite while in the dry finish. Enjoy with a grilled blue cheeseburger. - Mark

Winemaker Notes: Intense and bright red wine with purple hues. Fresh black berries and cherry aromas, with a hint of violet and mint. Delicate spicy note and vanilla on the finish. Full-bodied with firm tannins and a delicate acidity. Serve cool at 60° F. Can be cellared for up to 7 years. This wine pairs well with grilled pork tenderloin or with lamb with fresh herbs.

A Visit To Virginia Wine Country – Fall 2026

The fall is a perfect time to plan a visit to Virginia Wine country. Ken and the KWG Tasting Panel have been covering the winning wines from the Virginia Governor’s Cup for years. Recently, our coverage has expanded beyond just the Governor’s Cup winners. Ken has been so impressed with Virginia wines that Theresa and he visited some wineries in the Charlottesville region in October of 2024. We highly recommend that you check out the six Virginia wineries in this post. We will start from the south near Charlottesville in the Monticello AVA and make our way north. Read This Blog Post
