Wine Review: This slightly cloudy and ruby red colored blend of Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petite Sirah from Anarachy is once again very good. It opens with a raspberry and shoe leather bouquet with hints of sandalwood and pencil shavings. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with plus acidity. The mouthfeel is round, fresh and zesty. The flavor profile is a spiced black plum and stony minerality blend with notes of black pepper, kalamata olives and Australian soft black licorice. We also detected hints of oak and blackberry. The finish is dry and refreshing. Its flavors, acidity and moderate tannins are nicely extended. We would pair this red blend with a messy rack of ribs or with lamb kabobs. Enjoy - Ken & Mark
Winemaker Notes: Nose: It’s been a long time since I've said this, but this is a WOW nose!! Velvet texture to the bouquet exploding with red and blackberry fruit. Cherry, raspberry, and black currants dancing with spice.
Palate: A Big wine. Much bigger than previous vintages due to the upgrade in the Cabernet Vineyard. Concentrated red berry fruit that leads with bright raspberry and cranberry and turns to black currant. A silky mouthfeel laced with pepper & spice builds to a sizable tannic structure that lingers with a velvet texture. The finish is a dusty rose and toasted oak lingering daydream. Think BBQ ribs and ribeyes!!
