Wine Review: This clear and golden yellow colored white blend from King Family in Virginia opens with a pineapple and tangerine peel bouquet with hints of quince and bee’s wax. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, viscous, and clean. The flavor profile is a honey and dried apricot blend with notes of white peach and Bosc pear. We also detected hints of tangerine, stony minerality, and golden raisin. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity fade away nicely. We would pair this white blend with a sticky apricot chicken. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Long planted in Virginia, Viognier and Chardonnay have been blended together in our region for their complimentary characteristics, balancing body with structure. The arrival of Petit Manseng has added a third dimension to our white wines, bringing ripe flavors, lifting acidity, and a sense of tension to the finished wine. Incorporating the distinct elements of each of these three grapes, our white Mountain Plains blend reflects the top selection of our best barrels. Each variety is aged separately for 9 months before blending and then aged an additional 9 months together before bottling. This extended aging period has allowed for full integration of fruit and oak as well as the development of layered complexity.
