Wine Review: This clear and medium white gold colored Chardonnay from Beringer opens with a mild pineapple and gentle oak bouquet with hints of pear. On the palate, this wine is just full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, seamless and quite approachable. The flavor profile is an oak influenced Bartlett pear and grilled pineapple blend with notes of butterscotch and mango. I also detected hints of cashew and lemon tea. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity show nice length. I would pair this Chard with a warm lobster roll with butter. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Introduced in 1979, Beringer's Private Reserve Chardonnay is a true Napa Valley icon. Crafted from select single vineyard sites (Gamble Ranch & Big Ranch), this Chardonnay has a luscious mouthfeel and elegant fruit core rounded out by nine months of aging in French Oak barrels. It opens with an inviting, layered nose that shows grilled pineapple, lemon meringue, toasted hazelnut, mandarin zest, and subtle chamomile. Hints of toasted crème brûlée add warmth and depth. On the palate, the wine is creamy, generous, and fully textured, with a bright, focused line of acidity that brings energy and lift. Flavors of citrus curd, warm spice, and soft tropical fruit unfold with clarity across the seamless mid-palate. The interplay of richness and freshness remains finely tuned, giving the wine both presence and poise. The finish is long, clean, and persistent.
