Wine Review: This hazy very dark ruby colored Merlot based red blend from E11EVEN is Right Bank inspired and it delivers. It opens with a fragrant blackberry and tobacco bouquet with hints of oregano, iris, and wet stone. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, savory, and mouthwatering. Similar to the nose, its flavor profile features a blackberry and tobacco blend with notes of crushed stone, and black currant. I also detected hints of red plum, oregano, black pepper, oolong tea, and cedar. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and its light dusty tannins linger and last for quite some time. I would decant this red blend for a little bit, before pairing it with a beef stew with parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme. Enjoy – Ken
