Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Alicante Bouschet from St. Amant is a terrific value! It opens with a fig and moist pipe tobacco bouquet with hints of blackberry and oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, super smooth, and slightly viscous. The flavor profile is a very tasty black cherry and blueberry blend with notes of gentle tobacco and fig. I also detected hints of spiced black plum. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and its fine tannins drift away nicely. I would enjoy this Alicante Bouschet on its own. With food, pair it with your favorite juicy burger. Enjoy - Ken
