Wine Review: This clear and pale garnet colored Grenache from Olivia Brion was very well received by the Tasting Panel. It opens with a violets and black plum bouquet with hints of red raspberry, mint, and cranberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and bright. The flavor profile is a mulberry and dark cocoa blend with notes of mild strawberry and black pepper. We also detected hints of stone dust and sloe plum. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and mild tannins drift away nicely. We would pour this chillable and very quaffable Grenache with friends on a warm day! It will not last long. Some Panel members also tried this wine at room temperature and really liked it as well. Overall, the Panel voted this one a winner! With food, we would pair it with Sheri’s sausage stuffed mushrooms or with a charcuterie board. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: A perfect chilled red. This has been a dream of mine for quite some time. I don’t enjoy the bitterness often found in ice cold red wines. I want the wine to be plush and zesty and easy to drink but with distinctive aromas like my favorite whites. This wine is dedicated to that dream. It is soft on the palate but not devoid of intensity. It tastes just as good straight out of the cold box as it does when it warms gently in your hands. This Grenache is from the Shake Ridge Ranch.
