Wine Review: This almost translucent and very dark red colored red blend from Rowen opens with a black currant and red licorice bouquet with hints of clove and oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, super smooth, and seamless. The flavor profile is a tasty currant and red licorice blend with notes of red plum and stone dust. I also detected hints of vanilla-cola, spice, and oak. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and well-managed moderate tannins show very nice length. I would pair this excellent red blend with a porterhouse steak. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The 2022 Rowen red blend is a lush and elegant wine showcasing the high-elevation, mountain fruit of Cooley Ranch vineyard. The blend offers enticing dark cherry and blackberry aromas with a touch of oak spice. On the palate, Cabernet Sauvignon brings power and density, with notes of cassis, dark chocolate, and graphite. Malbec brings plushness, with bright raspberry fruit and velvety soft tannins. Co-fermented Syrah and Viognier, a classic winemaking technique from the Northern Rhone, adds exotic floral and spice elements, culminating in a beautifully complex and full-bodied red wine. Enjoy now with sharp cheeses and charcuterie, grilled filet mignon or cellar for enjoyment for years to come.
