Wine Review: This translucent and magenta colored Pinot Noir from Raen opens with an inviting ripe red raspberry and strawberry bouquet with hints of vanilla, oak, and rose petal. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with beautifully integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is very well-balanced, silky, and polished. The flavor profile is a tasty, dried strawberry and stone dust blend with notes of red raspberry tea, orange zest, and oak. We also detected hints of cranberry, clove, and a touch of maraschino cherry in the after taste. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and well managed fine tannins drift away nicely. We would pair this versatile and sophisticated Pinot with beef carpaccio, mushroom risotto, or with a veal scallopini. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: The wine opens to opulent aromas of rose petals, wild strawberry, savory herbs, and the edge of a coastal forest nearing a springtime meadow. This is followed by red cherry, raspberry plum, blood orange marmalade, rose petals and thyme. Layers of coastal forest floor with mushroom laced foliage, rosemary, sea moss and ripe cherries add a unique depth and earthy character, while a vibrant core of red and blackberries carry through the palate. The finish is lifted by spice and coastal freshness, leaving a long and youthful impression.

Jeremiah Timm – Paul Hobbs Winery – March 2026
