Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from BV is fantastic. It opens with a red plum and boysenberry bouquet with hints of clove, nutmeg, and stone dust. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with nicely integrated gentle acidity. The mouthfeel is well-balanced and silky-smooth. The flavor profile is a black cherry, boysenberry, and crushed stone minerality blend with notes of black currant. We also detected hints of black tea. The finish is dry, and its moderate well-managed tannins build-up and linger for a very long time. The Panel would pair this impressive Cab with braised short ribs or a porterhouse steak. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: This vintage of 2017 Madame de Latour red blend is truly expressive on the nose with a beautiful floral character and a style full of finesse and elegance. The wine reveals perfumed notes of violets and rose petal, alongside cassis, black cherry, and wild sage. Hints of star anise, cinnamon, and clove are also present. On the palate, a bounty of juicy, ripe black fruits come through finishing with a dense, plush core of dark chocolate and mocha. The mouthfeel is rich and velvety with fine grained tannins that seamlessly integrate with the fresh acidity, adding layers of complexity and balance. Well integrated notes of vanilla and toasted oak spices, from aging in new French oak barrels, heighten the aromas and contribute to the lengthy, mouthwatering finish. To enjoy this wine at its full potential, we recommend two to five years of bottle ageing; however, if you can’t wait, decant before serving.
