Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon based wine opens with a cassis, oak, and raspberry bouquet. with hints of orange zest, fig, and forest floor. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with bright acidity. The mouthfeel is juicy with a little bit of an edge. The flavor profile is red currant and red plum blend with notes of chalk minerality and pomegranate. We also detected hints of oregano, tart cherry, and Baker's chocolate. The finish is dry, and its moderate dusty tannins linger and last for a while. The Panel would pair this red blend with a cranberry pork tenderloin or a glazed ham. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2018 Tapestry offers a beautiful rusticity in this elegant expression of this tremendous vintage, showing the true artistry of blending five Bordeaux-heritage grape varieties grown within the Napa Valley, which together contribute multi-layered flavors and complexity. The Cabernet Sauvignon imparts a generous core of blackberries, blueberries, black cherry compote, cassis, and hints of anise while the Merlot brings vibrant, riper notes of plum and dark cherry. The Merlot also softens the tannins and adds a plush texture on the palate. Malbec contributes fresh wild raspberry notes, while the Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot complete the blend with darker berry fruits, savory, and delicate floral nuances of violet and wild sage. Aging in new French oak barrels adds well-integrated notes of mocha and molasses, heightens the overall aromatic expression, and lengthens the finish.
