Wine Review: This translucent and pale straw colored Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) based wine from the Pfalz region of Germany opens with a Bosc pear and lime zest bouquet with hints of nectarine pit. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, fresh, and zesty. The flavor profile is saline and mild white grapefruit blend with notes of chalky minerality and lime zest. I also detected hints of green apple and a dash of white pepper. The finish is rather dry, and its flavors and acidity linger and last for a while. I would serve this Pinot Blanc slightly chilled and serve it with a crab dip. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: "Haus Weiss is kinda same style as the Liter Weissburgunder, we made it a blend and added some Silvaner this makes sense taste-wise as it adds some spiciness and minerality to the blend without overtaking the fruit. Both vines grow on loam, loess with partly limestone rich soil. Vinification is kept simple short maceration, wild yeast fermentation and aging on the lees till March. Basically, your daily low intervention Tischwein."
