Wine Review: This midnight purple colored big boy Cabernet Sauvignon from DAOU was the winner of a mini high-end blind tasting that the Panel conducted. It opens with a marshmallow, blueberry and campfire bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, powerful and lush. The flavor profile is a smoky oak and blueberry blend with notes of plum and toasted marshmallow. We also detected some hints of vanilla as well. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins stick around for quite some time. The Panel suggested enjoying this wine on its own by the fireplace. With food they would pick pairing it with steak au poive. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: The 2017 vintage displays richness, elegance and balance—the hallmarks of a superb growing season that allowed for extended ripening. A deep, complex bouquet reveals notes of cassis, black currant, licorice, incense, ripe plum and vanilla. The palate is full-bodied, layered and complex, while smooth, silky tannins lead to a persistent finish.
