Wine Review: This pitch-black colored Port opens with a golden raisin, rum, and black plum bouquet with a hint of blackberry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is bright, viscous, and balanced. The flavor profile rich and concentrated stewed plum and chocolate notes of cinnamon, black licorice, and rum. We also detected hints of blackberry and molasses. The finish is dry and its supple tannins drift away nicely. This Port is very food friendly and would pair well with chocolate pots de crème or with a Cuban cigar. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: The 2018 DAOU Port powerfully captures a phenomenal vintage for Bordeaux varieties in Paso Robles. In the glass, an opaque purple-black hue is a precursor of the richness to come. The nose offers fabulously intense aromas of cassis, blackberry, and licorice with a hint of ash. A massive full-bodied palate maintains a layered elegance, all leading to an endless finish. This wine's striking intensity is balanced by formidable structure, resulting in an eminently age-worthy dessert wine.
