Wine Review: This refined Chardonnay from Paso Robles is a medium golden yellow color and presents a fragrant bouquet which include Bosc pear, jasmine, toasted walnut, pineapple, wet slate, and vanilla pastry cream. Plush and round on the palate, it's medium-plus bodied with integrated plus acidity, and has good balance with loads of ripe fruit and nicely managed oak. I found flavors of pineapple, pink grapefruit, white peach, wet river stone, and mild toasted oak with notes of vanilla, Delicious apple and a hint of lime zest. The finish is crisp and very long. Serve with an Ahi Poke bowl. - Mark

Winemaker Notes: The 2023 DAOU Chardonnay presents enticing scents of pear, passion fruit and pineapple augmented by hints of honeysuckle, white peach, nutmeg, and buttered toast. The nose is rounded out by nuances of crushed hazelnut, hibiscus, papaya, and vanilla. A lush, vibrant palate displays tropical flavors of mango, kiwi and pineapple with kisses of golden apple and clover honey. Suggestions of casaba melon, citrus zest and toasty oak persist on a clean, balanced finish.
