Wine Review: This ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Decoy opens with a red currant bouquet with hints of eucalyptus, anise and red plum. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied, slightly acidic, round and juicy. The flavor profile is a pleasant blend of plum and black currant blend with notes of cocoa and anise spice. I also detected some hints of oak, boysenberry and fine grained minerality in the background. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins stick around for a little while. This Cab is food friendly and versatile. We would pair it with braised short ribs with mashed potatoes or with a slow cooked bottom round roast beef on an open-faced sourdough thick sliced of bread.
