Wine Review: This clear and medium ruby colored Merlot from Decoy opens with a black raspberry and oak bouquet with hints of mint and geranium. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, smooth, and savory. The flavor profile is stewed plum and stony minerality blend with notes of black pepper and blackberry. We also detected hints of oak, tobacco, muddled mint, and Baker's chocolate. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and polished mild dusty tannins drift away nicely. We would pair this friendly Merlot with grandma's meat lasagna or short rib ravioli. Enjoy - KWGTP
