Wine Review: This hazy and medium ruby colored Pinot Noir from Merry Edwards opens with a cigar box, mild pomegranate, and cinnamon bouquet with hints of nutmeg, violets, and iris. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is very nicely balanced, super smooth, and harmonious. The flavor profile is a very tasty black plum and tobacco blend with notes of black cherry, mocha, and stony minerality. We also detected hints of black pepper, cedar, dried strawberry, and clove. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and resolved moderate tannins build-up and are nicely sustained. We would pair this Pinot with Julia Child’s duck a l'orange or with marinated teriyaki steak tips. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Meredith Estate is our flagship vineyard and a testament to our continuing quest to capture the intense flavors and richness of estate grown grapes in every bottle. In this vintage, a nose filled with sweet aromatics of violets, roses, dark plum and Bing cherry precedes a dense, juicy, and mouthwatering entry. Broad and rich tannins then envelop black cherry, boysenberry, cedar, and pipe tobacco. Earthy mushroom and leather notes combine with seductive notes of toast throughout the long and lingering finish.
