Wine Review: This slightly cloudy and very dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Merry Edwards opens with a campfire, dark chocolate, and black raspberry bouquet with hints of clove and red bell pepper. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, fresh, and dense. The flavor profile is an oak and currant blend with notes of rather toasted marshmallow and blueberry. We also detected hints of coconut flakes, chocolate, and black plum. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and mild tannins drift away nicely. This young wine benefits from some aeration. We would decant it in the near term before pairing it with short ribs. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: The vines at Warrens' Hill, located in the Green Valley of Russian River Valley are now 12 years old, and the depth and richness of the wines being produced here are a testament to the progress of its maturity. On the nose, deep notes of blackberry, black cherry and mulling spices combine with earthy mushroom and ripe plum. The soft, mouth-filling entry reveals black and blue fruits along with savory layers of grilled meat wrapped in rich, velvety tannins. The long finish is cloaked in elegance.
