Wine Review: This medium ruby colored Pinot Noir from Merry Edwards opens with a black raspberry and black pepper bouquet with hints of oak, tobacco, and pomegranate. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with plus acidity. The mouthfeel is round, bright, zesty, and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a black plum and loam blend with notes of oak and cranberry. I also detected hints of pomegranate, black pepper, and tobacco. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate tannins linger nicely. I would pair this slightly rustic Pinot Noir with wild mushroom crostini appetizers. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The goal of producing an Anderson Valley appellation blend is to highlight the best characteristics of this American Viticultural Area. The grapes for this wine come from vineyards located in the warmer Boonville area, from organic sources in Philo, and the cool Deep End, making it a true reflection of the primary grape-growing zones of the valley. Our 2023 Anderson Valley Pinot Noir features a fresh, vibrant nose with notes of tart red fruit, cinnamon, cranberry compote, and forest floor. The soft entry offers mouth filling acidity with flavors of plum, black cherry, tea and toasty oak before a lingering, earthy finish.
