Wine Review: This translucent and white gold colored Chardonnay from Merry Edwards opens with a pineapple and poached pear bouquet with hints of apricot pit and gentle oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, bright, and fresh. The flavor profile is a poached pear and golden delicious apple blend with notes of pineapple and gentle oak. I also detected hints of nectarine, almond, and lemon tea. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity show very nice length. I would pair this Chard with seared scallops in lemon butter. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2023 Chardonnay is a standout. The nose is filled with fragrances of high-toned lemon, freshly buttered toast, white flowers, and wet stone. The entry is bright and inviting.
