Wine Review: This clear and dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Merry Edwards opens with a shy and reserved cherry-cola bouquet with hints of toasted meringue, cedar, and red Twizzler. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and zesty. The flavor profile is a cherry-cola and acai berry blend with notes of lingonberry. We also detected hints of black pepper, licorice, and bay leaf. The finish is dry, and its flavors, tangy acidity, and mild tannins fade away nicely. We would pair this Pinot with a poached salmon over wild rice with a black raspberry reduction sauce. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The Coopersmith vineyard, located at the winery and planted in 2001, has always been farmed using sustainable measures. We have targeted this vineyard to be the next one we will convert to organic farming. Our 2024 Coopersmith Pinot Noir has its signature dark chocolate up front on the nose, with notes of black tea, ripe dark berries, and savory bay leaf and oregano. The entry is full of sweet, red fruit leading to a palate marked by fine acidity. It finishes in a flourish of forest notes and refreshing citrus. Pair with cocoa nib-crusted duck breast.
