Wine Review: This dark ruby and slightly opaque big red blend from Napa opens with a black cherry bouquet with hints of mild oak and blueberry. On the palate, the wine is full bodied, balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a very tasty blueberry with nicely integrated gentle oak. I also detected hints of cherry cola and a dash of black pepper. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are sticky and well managed. This wine would pair perfectly with a NY strip steak. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Berries & spice! The 2010 features black currant and allspice flavors with a big mid-palate. The gentle grip of fine tannins lingers for a long while. Have fun pairing this with food! We'll be enjoying this wine for years to come. The 2010 blend is 52% Merlot, 32% Petite Sirah, 14% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Syrah, and 1% Petit Verdot. A winemaker’s dream is to be artistically free to combine characters into wine that is purely hedonic and non-compliant with varietal regulations, so the Griffin's blend will change with every vintage. Stock up if you find a favorite, as next year’s bottle will be a surprise.
