Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Charbono from Robert Foley is very good as usual. It opens with a fragrant kirsch like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a tasty black cherry and gentle black plum blend with notes of oak, black tea, blueberry and gentle flinty minerality towards the end. The finish is dry and its mild dusty tannins and flavors linger nicely. This is a very versatile food wine. It would pair perfectly with Roy's rib roast. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The 2015 Charbono is lighter in body and lower in alcohol than many red wines but intoxicating in a unique complexity. Aromas display elements of grape jelly, Italian herbs and spices, and red rose petals. The mid-palate is quite delicate, and a lively acidity helps create a long, lingering finish. This is a very versatile food wine!
