Wine Review: This pitch-black colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Robert Foley opens with a blackberry and graphite bouquet with hints of cedar, grape Tootsie pop, violets, and cherry Twizzler. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, very smooth, and dense. The flavor profile is a black currant and black licorice blend with notes of graphite, cedar, and black plum. We also detected hints of clove, cinnamon, cola, and oolong tea. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and moderate dusty tannins build-up and stick around for quite a while. We would decant this Cab before paring it with Roy’s prime rib or braised short ribs. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Elegance in a glass! Candied fruit punctuated with menthol aromas and just a hint of cinnamon combines for an amazing bouquet. Medium body with lower alcohol, clean tart natural acidity frames a flood of red fruit flavors and gentle textures. Fine soft tannin completes this graceful Cabernet. The magic of this tiny Mount Veeder Cabernet block results from the vines nestling in a forest of California Laurel. Also known as Bay, these aromatic trees lend their character to the flavors of the wine, providing an insinuation of menthol, which marries with a black cherry character from the ripe 'See' clone Cabernet Sauvignon that's grown there.
