Wine Review: This opaque dark ruby colored Charbono from Robert Foley opens with a blueberry pie and fig bouquet with hints of cedar and wintermint. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and polished. The flavor profile is blackberry and black licorice blend with notes of fig, graphite, and blueberry. We also detected hints of cinnamon, oak, and cola. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and well-managed moderate dusty tannins drift away nicely. We would pair this tasty Charbono with marinated grilled hanger steak or with a black forest chocolate cake. Enjoy - Ken & Mark
Winemaker Notes: Red raspberry and mixed berry jelly aromas leap from this bright and fruit focused Charbono. The medium body is framed with a tangy liveliness that’s balanced by lower alcohol. Berry flavors linger in a long finish with very soft and gentle tannin.
