Wine Review: This ruby colored Cabernet Franc based wine from South Africa opens with a black cherry and red plum bouquet with hints of pencil lead and acai berry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is round, refined and very nicely balanced. The flavor profile is a gentle red plum and mild cured meat blend with notes of black currant and graphite. I also detected hints of red licorice and cedar plank. The finish is dry, and its refined tannins and flavors linger for a while and then drift away nicely. This red blend is very food friendly and versatile. I would pair it with a wild boar ragu or braised short ribs. Enjoy - Ken
