Wine Review: This clear platinum colored Pinot Blanc from Wittmann is very good. It opens with a lemon zest and Anjou pear bouquet with hints of ginger. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, bright, and fresh. The flavor profile is quince and Anjou pear blend with notes of stony minerality and ginger. I also detected hints of white pepper and saline. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger and last for quite some time. This Pinot Blanc paired well with a lemony shrimp and asparagus topped with garlic panko breadcrumbs. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The entry-level "100 Hills" wines are produced from about 40% estate-harvested fruit, with the remainder sourced from other local growers who are certified organic by the European Union. Elegant, with fine aromas of ripe fruit, basil, and mint. Creamy and fresh with vibrant acidity and a fine minerality. Invigorating freshness of ripe fruits and nuts. It's an elegant and invigorating wine that’s excellent for everyday enjoyment. Pairs well with all foods.
