Wine Review: This very dark garnet colored GSM from V. Sattui opens with a black pepper and blackberry bouquet with hints of dried coconut, menthol, and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and very fruit forward. The flavor profile is a spice drop, raspberry, and black pepper blend with notes of cranberry and oak. I also detected hints of black cherry and black olive. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and well-managed and friendly moderate tannins drift away nicely. I would drink this GSM blend in the near term with Theresa's homemade meatloaf. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Our Entanglement showcases a striking ruby garnet hue, hinting at its refined complexity. The aromas reveal layers of raspberry, cedar wood, savory herbs, and subtle baking spice. On the palate, fresh cranberry, rhubarb, and cherry are complemented by a refreshing, juicy core. Concentrated yet elegant, the wine is framed by fine tannins, creating a balanced and enduring finish.

On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, we interviewed Brian Pruett. Brian is the winemaker at Dry Creek Vineyard. We covered eight wines during the visit. We started with Chenin Blanc and a single vineyard Sauvignon Blanc, both from the 2024 vintage. Then we tried three single-vineyard and one historic-field-blend Zinfandel from the 2022 vintage. It was a great tasting and a lot of fun. In this post, you can learn what we learned about Brian and the history of the winery and read our reviews of all of these impressive wines.
