Wine Glossary
Definition: Right Bank
Right Bank is part of the Bordeaux wine region of France. It includes the St. Emilion and Pomerol appellations. In general wines from the Right bank are based primarily on Merlot and Cabernet Franc. But remember, that most Bordeaux wines are blends. So if you were traveling on a boat northwest on the Gironde River towards the Atlantic Ocean, the Right Bank region is on your right.
